Student Loans

Student loans and other financial aid opportunities are available to graduate students in Bloomington through the Office of Student Financial Assistance, Franklin Hall 208, IU, Bloomington, IN 47405-2801 (812-855-0321).

The application process for student loans is completely separate from that for SLIS financial aid.

If a student receives an award from SLIS, it is possible that it will cause the amount of loans to be reduced. Check with the IU Office of Student Financial Assistance to best understand your loan package.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the application for most types of financial aid processed through the Office of Student Financial Assistance. In order to be considered for the maximum amount of financial aid, students should complete the FAFSA before March 1. An updated FAFSA must be submitted for each year a student is enrolled.
