The American Library Association’s Office for Diversity and Spectrum is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support for the Director of the Office for Diversity and the Spectrum Scholarship Program. This will include generating routine correspondence, memoranda, reports, spreadsheets to support a national scholarship program; preparing conference paperwork and shipments; developing agendas, preparing and posting meeting summaries and minutes; assisting the Director in maintaining accurate budgetary records and files for any grant-related projects; scheduling Office for Diversity meetings and conference calls; and providing logistics for meetings and programs at conferences.

Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of related work experience. And some college preferred. Superior organizational and inter-personal skills; ability to work effectively with internal staff and members; intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks and responsibilities; and good project management skills. Excellent communication skills (written and oral), grammar, and proofreading. A strong customer service attitude is necessary, and some experience working with diversity issues is desirable. The position will require occasional travel and attendance at ALA's meetings and conferences.

Starting Salary range from the high 20s; negotiable based on experience.
