Western Illinois University Libraries seeks an innovative student outreach services librarian with demonstrated experience using - Web 2.0 applications to provide service to patrons.
Required: ALA-accredited master’s degree, superior interpersonal, communication and writing skills. Experience working in libraries and higher education, and with visual/graphic design, and class-based instruction a plus. This is a 12-month non-tenure track faculty position. Screening of applications will begin on November 9, 2009.
Responsibilities: Reports directly to the Dean of Libraries. As leader of outreach services to undergraduate students explores and evaluates emerging technologies and works closely with University Relations and the Marketing Librarian. Works closely with campus groups such as the Office of Student Affairs and represents the Libraries at Discover Western; Student Orientation, Advising and Registration programs; Participates in the Libraries Liaison Program to academic departments. Provides class-based and reference-based instruction.
