Internet and Network Services
"When the colloquial meaning of 'network service' is invoked, there usually
is a scenario in mind of a person using an application on a computer with a
network connection in some kind of client/server model.
The key facets of this scenario are:
- It involves a person interacting with an application to accomplish a task.
- It involves an application running on a computer that has access to a network.

Information Organization and Management
"The effective management of information resources is critical to successful organizational performance. This is as true of a Fortune 500 corporation, as of a hospital or small liberal arts college. Information resources also include an organization's capital information assets, its network capabilities, and materials held in libraries, information centers and archives. Organizational information assets also include human, structural and customer intellectual capital. The purpose of the strategic intelligence management function is to integrate internal information and external intelligence in support of organizational goals and objectives." Dr. Blaise Cronin

"Consultants are in the business of providing services to firms that involve

practice of offering advice to organizations about the optimal configuration of
their information systems, integration of information systems, introduction of
client-server computing, participating in software design and recommending
hardware purchases."
