| Welcome! Welcome to the L401 Computer-Based Information Tools home page for Summer Session II, 1999. This page should provide students with information on the class, including links and resources for readings and assignments. Students should check this page on a weekly basis for updates or announcements related to the class. Description This course should introduce students to a wide range of computer based tools, including basic computer hardware, various operating systems, communication and information retrieval using the Internet, general desktop applications, and experience working in a networked environment. The class should give students the basic computer skills needed to prepare them for other classes in the School of Library Information Science, and ultimately for the field of information science. Instructors The lecture section of the class will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00pm -5:00pm. The lecture instructor is Jeff Beveridge. The lecture will be followed by a lab, one section of which will be instructed by Jeff Beveridge, and the other by Andrew Stevens.
