How to add a printer to an OS X Laptop

SLIS OS X systems have printers set by a central controller; if you need to print from your OS X laptop:

1. From Finder, select "Applications" then "Utilities", then "Printer Setup Utility"
2. Click the "Add" Icon
3. Select the "IP Printer" icon in the new window
4. On the "Protocol" dropdown, select "Line Printer Daemon - LPD"
5. In the "Address" textbox, type
   bl-uits-bowler.ads.iu.edu
   In the "Queue" textbox, type
   • Espressoprt -or-
   • EarlGreyprt
6. You can remane the printer in the "Name" text field
7. In the "Print Using" text box, select "Select a driver to use" then "HP Laserjet 8100 Series"
8. Click "Add"
9. A new dialog will appear, you may wish to check "Duplex Unit" to allow two sided printing.
10. Click "Continue"

Your OS X "short name" must be the same as your IU Username. SLIS cannot offer support on laptop printing.
