How to add a printer to an OS X Laptop
SLIS OS X systems have printers set by a central controller; if you need to print from your OS X laptop:
- From Finder, select "Applications" then "Utilities", then "Printer Setup Utility"
- Click the "Add" Icon
- Select the "IP Printer" icon in the new window
- On the "Protocol" dropdown, select "Line Printer Daemon - LPD"
- In the "Address" textbox, type
bl-uits-bowler.ads.iu.edu
In the "Queue" textbox, type
- Espressoprt -or-
- EarlGreyprt
- You can remane the printer in the "Name" text field
- In the "Print Using" text box, select "Select a driver to use" then "HP Laserjet 8100 Series"
- Click "Add"
- A new dialog will appear, you may wish to check "Duplex Unit" to allow two sided printing.
- Click "Continue"
Your OS X "short name" must be the same as your IU Username. SLIS cannot offer support on laptop printing.
